Selma is a personal finance educator who holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree and has spent over five years in personal finance, helping others gain control of their money so they can live the life they deserve. She grew her own income from a $40,000 salary to a quarter of a million dollars, with no trust fund and no safety net to fall back on. Drawing on that experience, she built Selma Makes Cents to help women save, invest, and pay off debt through honest, relatable money education.

Through her community, Selma has helped thousands of women and over 200K followers take control of their finances. This year alone, the women she works with have collectively saved, invested, and paid off over $650,000. Her approach pairs real numbers with real talk, meeting women where they are and giving them the tools and accountability to build lasting wealth on their own terms.

The Money Moves Pitch Competition is back, and in 2026, we're giving away even more coins to help founders level all the way up! Last year, thanks to our sponsors at Akina Technologies, we gave away $10,000 and those funds helped founders launch products, secure trademarks, and make REAL money moves. Think it could be you? 2026 Pitch Competition Application

This pitch competition is designed to empower female entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools they need to succeed. Thanks to our generous sponsors, including Dotted and Collective Consulting Partners, participants will compete for cash prizes totaling $10,000:

1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,500
3rd Place: $1,500

In addition to these prizes, finalists will receive personalized coaching, mentorship, and opportunities to showcase their businesses.

To be eligible, businesses must be a woman-owned business in the United States. Both service-based and product-based businesses, including those in the ideation phase, are encouraged to apply.
